Our editorial policy

The articles in our Knowledge Centre are written to help you learn more about health, nutrition and the science behind the ingredients in supplements, including our own. This page explains how we put these articles together and what you can expect.

Who writes and fact-checks our articles

Most of our articles are written by our in-house editorial team, who research each topic using published studies and authoritative sources. Every article is reviewed by Dr Miriam Ferrer, our Head of Product Development and in-house scientific expert. Miriam has a PhD from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and carried out postdoctoral research at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge. She checks all scientific and health-related claims for accuracy.

Some articles are published under Miriam’s name, written by our editorial team based on her expertise and opinions, and she has the final say over what they state. From time to time we also publish articles by guest experts, such as nutritionists and other health professionals.

Our sources

We base our articles on published, peer-reviewed research and trusted bodies such as the NHS and EFSA, with an emphasis on well-designed human studies. Where evidence is limited or early, or comes mainly from laboratory or animal research, we’ll say so. We’re also careful to distinguish between research on individual ingredients at specific doses and evidence for a finished supplement, which isn’t the same thing.

Keeping articles up to date

We update our library of health, nutrition and ingredient guides when significant new research or guidance is published, or when we return to a topic in more depth. Each article shows the date it was last updated, so you can see how recent the information is. If you think something we’ve written has been overtaken by newer evidence, please let us know.

How we use AI

We sometimes use AI tools to help with research, planning and early drafts, but nothing AI produces is treated as a source. All scientific claims are based on original research and trusted sources, and every article is edited and approved by people before it’s published.

Our products

We make and sell supplements, so we have a commercial interest in many of the subjects we write about. Our articles mention our products where they’re relevant, but their main job is to inform, and we won’t overstate what any supplement can do, including ours. All product promotions are clearly identified.

Not a substitute for medical advice

Our articles are for general information and aren’t a substitute for personal medical advice. If you’re pregnant, taking medication or managing a health condition, please talk to your GP or pharmacist before starting a supplement.
